Rosemary and Tyler

I love the house that Rosemary and Tyler are working on right now to live in after they get married. It was so fun to take a few pictures of the "in process" stages of the house. It's going to be amazing!

Rosemary knew about a vintage junkyard that was close to her house and so we went and checked it out. The possibilities there were just endless. And there was great light in all kinds of unexpected places. Tyler is a plumber...so we had to get a shot with one of those toilets that were sitting around. :)

Just as we were leaving the junkyard to head for the top of the city it started raining. I'm actually pretty excited about the way the shoot turned out because of those cool rainy, umbrella shots. Rosemary was totally shivering because it was so cold.

We decided at that point that it was time to head to the Blue Plate Diner...the location of Rosemary and Tyler's first date and the place where Tyler proposed. It was packed! I love the paparrazi look of them because of all the people.

Thanks for lunch and for taking me all those places I've never been, Rosemary and Tyler. I had a great time hanging out with you!

Once Upon a Spring Day

The skies were blue and the sun was shining after so many days of coldness, it was perfect! After getting a lot of family pictures, almost having me and my equipment go in the reflecting pool, and getting prevented from going into the Visitor's Center on Temple Square we decided it was time to head to the reception...but not before a pit stop at Blimpies. (Love those pictures!)

When I arrived at Stacia's house I couldn't believe what an amazing view they had from their backyard. It was breathtaking and the grounds were just gorgeous. This group had such a great time dancing! You have to check them out!

I think my favorite part of the night, though was when Stacia was standing around with a group of girls talking and Andrew ran out of the house, scooped her up, and said, "No more talking." and ran with her to the car. It was a great exit. :)

Here's their sneak peak!

Imagine Ballet Theatre Company

My favorite personal project last year was with The Imagine Ballet Theatre Company. Raymond VanMason is the founder of the Company, an amazing dancer, and choreographer. During the fall of 2005 the company performed his original work, "The Secret Garden" based on the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

I had the opportunity of documenting the last few weeks of rehearsal before the performance. They have a very rigorous schedule of practice along with their performance practice. I was completely amazed at the dedication and commitment these dancers have at such a young age. The majority of the dancers are still in high school and the principal dancers are in college. They have long days, they attend school and then many of them come straight from there to dance until nine o'clock at night. They have practices at least three times a week. As the performance got closer they were spending every waking hour that they weren't at school at the dance studio or on stage. Everyday is very demanding. Raymond VanMason expects a very high standard from his dancers and they work hard to surpass it. One of the things that I think is so special about this company is the camaraderie, love, and support they give each other. Raymond has done a lot to foster that atmosphere and it is obvious in the way each of the dancers in the company respect and love him.

Their hard work and efforts at perfection paid off. The performances were so moving. I was just amazed by the level of maturity and stage presence they all had. I was so honored to have had the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people.

Thank you!
