OHHHMMMMmmmmm....

So I go out to my car to leave for a shoot and this is what I see:

Emma

She is such a crack up. I never know what to expect from her. She totally keeps us on our toes.

Of course, since I got my camera out the whole thing turned into a mini-photo shoot before I left:

Marcus and Debbie

Marcus and Debbie were so fun to hang out with. We met at Sundance last Thursday right after they flew in from California for their wedding at Sundance on Sunday. They love to shop (especially for shoes!) and just be together taking walks. For their wedding guests they made up little packets with all the hotspots around Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas. Through out the weekend they had planned time for everyone to meet up for dinner or activities. What a fun wedding...not just for a day but for the weekend.

Check out the fun we had at Sundance and Park City.

The lights of Vegas

The last night in Vegas I went out to dinner at Planet Hollywood with a bunch of photographers. Way fun!

Everyone at the pretend Regis Birthday Party :)lol.

Grace and I

JT and I

This one's for you Tim! :)

Then I met up with some more photographer friends and checked out the lights in Vegas.

The lights in Vegas!

Millie Holloman--she is so fun! She and Autumn Burke and I roomed together. Most nights we stayed up way too late gabbing. We had so much fun catching up on all the classes we missed and playing with all the stuff that Millie bought at the tradeshow. So glad I got to hang out with them so much.

Work it baby!

A little chimping!

Paris in Vegas.

Loving those lights and a little playing with turning my camera in a circle during a long exposure.

Fun Times!

Thirst Relief International and Mentoring Sessions at WPPI

One week before leaving for Vegas I just suddenly got inspiration about how to help Thirst Relief International (an organization started by Jim Davis-Hicks to educate the world about the need for safe drinking water around the globe--check it out!). With a wealth of expertise on the OSP and Pictage forums I was hoping that we could get a mentoring session set up at WPPI.

I know that the photographers on the forums are helpful, generous, and willing to share but I had no idea about the response that would follow...especially on such short notice. Over fifteen people volunteered to be mentors and they held almost 40 mentoring sessions.

More than $1000 was raised for Thirst Relief International in a few hours. Enough to save a village of people and suppy them with clean drinking water. Amazing!

Thank you to all of the mentors who took time out of a busy WPPI/DWF schedule to help not only other photographers but people around the world. I am so blessed to know you!

The mentoring sessions:

David Jay I know it doesn't seem like much but your email of 'it's a great idea, go for it' is what got the ball rolling on this project. Thank you for that.

Brody Dezember you have blessed my business in so many ways. I am so glad to have you as a friend!

Pepper Nix You have done so much to give me power. Thanks!

Jim and Lara Davis-Hicks you have been such an inspiration to me! I am so glad I got to meet you and talk with you.

Jefferson Todd thanks for sharing so much of your business with me. Your business sense blows my mind!

Nathan and Amber Holritz you are both so amazing...not just as photographers but as human beings.

Jules Bianchi you are so kind. Totally loved the time I got to spend with you!
Jessica Claire thank you for your insight into my work and for your time on such a busy day!
Dane Sanders you are just so solid. Thanks for being a great encouragement to me. Are we ever going to have that breakfast? Liana Lehman thanks for being to willing to help out...I know that you blessed the lives of the people you mentored. They were so glad to get to meet with you! Can't wait for October!
Alisha Nelson so glad I got to hang out with you at the mall!
Garrett and Joy Nudd you are both so incredible. I think I missed a lot not getting to hang out with you more at DWF
Sara France so many people were so glad that you offered to mentor. I am so grateful to you, especially after the crazy, busy life you've been leading.

Thanks to you all for blessing so many people!

WPPI was so stinkin' fun!

The Wedding and Portrait Photographer International convention was so amazing! I got to learn so many great things from the top photographers in the nation. I went to classes by Jeffery and Julia Woods, Mike Colon, John Michael Cooper, Jessica Claire, Susan Stripling, Joe Photo, Parker Pfister, Jules Bianchi, and so many more. It was just incredible. I love learning and I love being inspired to take things to the next level.

I also got to hang out with some really fun friends on the tradeshow floor.

Amber Holritz

Pepper Nix and Brody Dezember--both great photographers and great friends here in Utah!

Alisha-she is the party woman. If Alisha's there you can count on a party.

And Jules Bianchi, too. How did we not get a picture?

Melissa and Chris!

What a totally fun day! I had so much fun at this wedding. Melissa and Chris got married at a little white church on Hill Airforce Base. They are so comfortable with each other and so much fun to hang out with. I am so lucky to get to have friends for clients. At the reception we talked about having a photo booth set up...ohmigosh!! I'm so glad that Melissa and Chris thought that this would be a stinkin' fun idea. We got some really fun shots and this is only a preview. Make sure to come back in a few days and check out the slideshow. Talk about fun stuff!!!

The awesome slideshow! :)

WPPI is finally here!

I am going to be at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International Convention this week. I am so excited! Last year just I promised myself I would go and I leave on a plane bright and early in the morning!

Make sure you check back here at the end of the week for all the fun.

If you were at Melissa and Chris's wedding you have to come back at the end of the week. We had so much stinkin' fun! I just glanced through the pictures (because I sure couldn't wait until the end of the week...sorry!) and I just love them. The photo booth...wow! Those are some really fun pictures!! If you want you can subscribe (in the little box to the right) and you'll get an email when I post the pictures here. Happy honeymoon Melissa and Chris!

Off To Vegas!!
